THOUGHTS ON THE GARDEN OF EDEN: OBEDIENCE AND DISOBEDIENCE
Suggested Scripture reading is Genesis chapter’s 1-3
It was Heaven on earth in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were in the direct presence of
God and life there was Blissful.
Genesis 2: 15-17
15 ¶ Then the Lord God took the man, and put
him into the garden of Eden, that he might 1dress
it, and keep it.
16 And the Lord God 1commanded the man, saying,
2Thou shalt eat freely of every tree of the garden,
17 But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil,
thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou
eatest thereof, thou shalt die the death.
Genesis 3:1-6
1 Now the serpent was more subtle than any
beast of the field, which the Lord God had made:
and he said to the woman, Yea, hath God indeed
said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We eat
of the fruit of the trees of the garden.
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst
of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it,
neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 Then the aserpent said to the woman, Ye shall
not die at all,
5 But God doth know that when ye shall eat
thereof, your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be
as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 So the woman (seeing that the tree was good
for meat, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a
tree to be desired, to get knowledge) took of the fruit
thereof, and did beat, and gave also to her husband
with her, and he did eat.
And so Adam and Eve disobeyed God and immediately lost there
covering of innocence, and God of course knew it and began to search them out
to find out why? Well as the story goes
satan deceived and charmed Eve into distrusting God. Then came the disobedience and God banned
them from the Garden of Eden, Heaven on earth and out of his divine presence.
Had they not been deceived, but instead believed obeyed and
listened to God, they and us would be still in that Garden and Heaven on earth
today!
My thoughts are this:
Trust God and obey him!! The more
obedient we are to Him, The more of His presence He will give to us.
